Stephan Holzinger, Honorarkonsul des Sultanats Oman, hatte die Ehre, Seine Majestät Haitham bin Tariq bin Taymur al-Sa'id, den Sultan von Oman, bei seiner Ankunft im
Militärbereich des Hauptstadtflughafens während des Staatsbesuchs im Juli 2022 persönlich begrüßen zu dürfen.

Die Aufgabe des Honorarkonsuls besteht vorrangig in der Entwicklung und Pflege der wirtschaftlichen, wissenschaftlichen und kulturellen Zusammenarbeit zwischen dem
Freistaat Bayern und dem Sultanat Oman. Die deutsch-omanischen Beziehungen sind traditionell ausgezeichnet und freundschaftlich. Das neue Honorarkonsulat möchte daran auf der Ebene des
Freistaats Bayern nahtlos anknüpfen. Auch soll omanischen Staatsbürgern im Freistaat Bayern im Bedarfsfall Hilfe und Beistand gewährt werden.
Zum Honorarkonsul wurde Stephan Holzinger ernannt.
Konsuln sind Organe des völkerrechtlichen Verkehrs, d.h. ein Entsendestaat bestellt sie und ein Empfangsstaat lässt sie zur Ausübung einzelner hoheitlicher Befugnisse des Entsendestaats auf dem Territorium des Empfangsstaats zu. Am 2. März 2020 erließ seine Majestät Sultan Haitham bin Tarik per Dekret die Ernennung von Stephan Holzinger zum Honorarkonsul des Sultanats im Freistaat Bayern. Die Bundesregierung erteilte am 23. Juli 2020 das Exequatur zur Ausübung der konsularischen Funktionen innerhalb seines Konsularbezirks, dem Freistaat Bayern, an Stephan Holzinger (Bekanntmachung der Bayerischen Staatskanzlei vom 31. Juli 2020, Az. A III 2/Dr 1090-396-1).

Thank you for your interest in the website of the Honorary Consul of the Sultanate of Oman in the Free State of Bavaria.
The main task of the Honorary Consul is to develop and maintain economic, scientific and cultural cooperation between the Free State of Bavaria and the Sultanate of Oman. German-Omani relations are traditionally good and friendly. The new Honorary Consulate would like to build on this seamlessly at the level of the Free State of Bavaria. Omani citizens in the Free State of Bavaria will also be granted assistance and support in case of need.
Stephan Holzinger was appointed as Honorary Consul.
Consuls are organs of international law, i.e. a sending state appoints them and a receiving state allows them to exercise individual sovereign powers of the sending state on the territory of the receiving state. On 2 March 2020, His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik issued a decree appointing Stephan Holzinger as Honorary Consul of the Sultanate of Bavaria. On 23 July 2020, the Federal Government granted Stephan Holzinger the exequatur for exercising consular functions within his consular district, the Free State of Bavaria (Bavarian State Chancellery Notice of 31 July 2020, ref. A III 2/Dr 1090-396-1).
